Please hold while we try to connect you...

RadioheadThe alarm went off shortly before eight and I was pretty groggy after getting to bed at 2am and then having a rubbish night's sleep. But suddenly it dawned on me that the Radiohead tickets would be going on sale in about five minutes. So I leapt out of bed (literally) and grabbed my phone. Once I had dialled the number for Ticketmaster and followed all the relevant instructions, I was told that I was in a queue. I was then treated to the soothing sounds of Air's Moon Safari album while I was on hold. After 10-15 mins and just when I was about to give up, a voice said 'how can I help you?'. Two minutes later I was the proud owner of a reference number with the promise of two Radiohead tickets in the post anytime between now and two weeks before the concert. What followed was a celebratory dance to the funky sounds of 'Gett Off' by Prince, which I'm glad to say wasn't witnessed by anyone else.

Attack of the garlic and cheese fries

Word of Warning!

I had a nasty run in with a serving of garlic and cheese fries from Abrekebabra which resulted in two days of food poisoning. I also lost my appetite for about five days which is almost unheard of for me. Anyway the moral of the story is don't order garlic and cheese fries in Abrekebabra unless you have consumed a lot of alcohol, something I wish I'd known about before I walked in there sober.
