He's Just Not That Into You

I went to see ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ during the week and I enjoyed it despite the large amount of cringing that I did during the film. The film is based on a book which is based on a line from an episode of Sex and the City. I know this doesn’t sound terribly promising but you’d be surprised what they are able to do with the statement ‘He’s just not that into you’. There are lots of different characters in this film, some are married, some are dating and some are sort of half seeing people so it’s a fairly safe bet that most people in the audience will identify with somebody! One of the main characters, Gigi produced possibly the most cringe inducing moments. As you are watching her all you can think is ‘please, please don’t do that’. This is a chick flick so you will get mostly happy endings but not everything works out for everyone so it isn’t 100% sugar (thankfully). The cinema was fairly packed the night I went to see it and I loved the fact that there was some audience participation i.e. a communal gasp of shock and sign of happiness at different parts of the film.

Quote of the Week

Nothing in the world is permanent, and we're foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we're still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it. If change is of the essence of existence one would have thought it only sensible to make it the premise of our philosophy.
