Miss Potter

I went to see ‘Miss Potter’ on Friday night after work and I really enjoyed it. The film is about Beatrix Potter, the English author and illustrator of Children’s books who was born in 1866. The main focus of the film is the story surrounding the publication of her books and the effect this had on her life. It tells of her relationship with her publisher and his family and her own family’s reaction to this relationship. Beatrix Potter had a great interest in animals and considered the drawing that she did of rabbits, ducks, pigs and hedgehogs to be her friends. She enjoyed the summers that she spent in the Lake District as a child with her family and later in life became dedicated to preserving farmland in this area. This film might not be to everyone’s taste but it is an interesting story that is well made and moving in parts.

Comments:
This film has "chick flick" written all over it! :-)
