Earl Okin

Earl Okin played the Tiki Lounge in Cork a couple of weeks ago. It was an interesting gig and Earl put on a good performance. I have to commend him for the amazing trumpet noise that he produces and for the fact that he got the audience to reinact a memorable scene from the ‘When Harry Met Sally’ film. His CD ‘Earl Okin - Musical Genius and Sex Symbol’ is definitely worth a listen especially for his unusual cover of ‘Song 2’ by Blur.

Hi, I like the photo of your shadow… but, also.. thank you very much for mentioning Earl Okin. I saw him twice on tv here in Oz, on a show called Spicks and Specks, and wanted to find out more, but couldn’t discover his name. His performance of “The girl from Ipanema” was so groovy; it was almost sultry: and his take on “Teenage Dirtbag” was hilarious. Thanks again, and bye for now!

I'm glad you liked the cd and the gig... I'll try to dig up something as interesting next time round.

Oh yeah, if it wasn't a coincidence then it was a nice touch. :-)
