I went to see 27 Dresses last Thursday night and really enjoyed it. It’s one of those films where you know what is going to happen but enjoy it because of that fact rather than in spite of it. The two main characters in the film are Katherine Heigl, who plays Jane Nichols and James Marsden, who plays Kevin Doyle. Jane is a girl who loves weddings and has been a bridesmaid 27 times while Kevin is a journalist that writes about weddings. Things get complicated, or least about as complicated as this plot gets, when Jane’s sister comes to stay and gets together with George (Jane’s boss and the guy she is in love with). The story ambles along nicely with some funny scenes, my favourite being the one in the bar when Jane and Kevin get drunk and sing along to ‘Benny and the Jets’. In the end you get a happy ending and you go home without being traumatised by a night in the cinema.
