50 Best Irish Music Acts Right Now
Four music journalists from the Irish Times ‘Ticket’ have picked out their top 50 Irish music acts now.
Three rules were:
1. Solo acts had to have been born on the island of Ireland or to hold an Irish passport.
2. In the case of bands, half or more of the members had to have been born on the island of Ireland or to hold an Irish passport.
3. Bands had to have recorded or released music since January 2008, or to have played a gig since January 2008.

How exactly is "best" defined? Are opinions based on personal tastes really worth printing in a newspaper? Another thing, why does most Irish music have to be so bland. I had great hopes for Jape's album (silly me for judging it from the cover). It turned out to be absolute muck.

True, this 'best' list is based upon the opinions of four music journalists. Most people will have different views on which are the best Irish music acts at the moment. I haven't heard of Hada To Hada, so I'll have to keep an ear out for them.
Believe it or not I was shocked when I couldn't find "Keane" on that list... I'll just let that one sink in shall I :)
Hada To Hada are mega low-key. As far as I know they're still playing though but you won't find much on them, not even on the internet.
There is a video on youtube though, "Pike". You'll either love it or hate it.
